lil wayne coma

Lil Wayne
According to Lil' Wayne's publicist the rapper has left Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, where he spent the last five days after suffering from several seizures.
Mack Maine, president of Wayne's label Young Money, took to Twitter to spread the good news.
"@LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home...God is great," he tweeted late last night.
The 30-year-old rappers hospital stay has triggered a flurry of conflicting reports from website TMZ and Lil' Wayne's associates.

TMZ has reported that the rapper was in a medically induced coma, that the seizures were triggered by a codeine overdose, that Wayne was on life support and that he'd been read his last rites. All of these stories were summarily denied by Lil' Wayne's associates.
"Dont believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe ... that's false!!" Maine tweeted Friday night.
According to Maine, during the time that Lil Wayne was reportedly in a medically induced coma, he was actually watching the Syracuse Orange take on the Georgetown Hoyas in the Big East tournament.
Birdman went to Twitter to take the gossip site on writing, ""Shame on you @TMZ anything to make a couple $."
He later released a full statement that blamed the seizures on his protégé's "work ethic."
"But it wasn't nothing about no drugs. He just needs to get some rest and relax, take it one day at a time," Birdman said.
Lil' Wayne started out as a member of the Hot Boys before finding solo success via his debut album "Tha Block is Hot." After several more albums, the rapper's mainstream popularity exploded with the release of "Tha Carter." Wayne is largely considered one of the most successful and prolific rap artists of all time. He has won several Grammys (including one for Best Rap Album) and holds the record for most songs on the Billboard Hot 100 with 109.
